Drawing and Model Control

Drawing and model registers wired to reviews and delivery milestones, so the report shows who is holding what. Ported to three Phoenix ME projects.

The tool itself.

What you do with it.

What the tool is for, in the order the work happens.

  1. Keep one register for every drawing

Drawing lists arrive from several places and rarely agree. The register takes them in, matches revisions and shows the gaps.

  2. See who is holding what through approval

The approval view names the reviewer holding each drawing and how long they have held it.

  3. Close the loop at as-built

A drawing is not finished when it is issued. The register waits for the as-built drawing to come back, checks it against the model, and shows what is still outstanding at handover.

How it works.

A drawing enters the register, goes out for approval, is issued for construction, then comes back as built and is verified against the model.

  1. Register
    • Drawing added with its revision
  2. Approval
    • Issued to a named reviewer
    • Decision recorded on the revision
  3. Construction
    • Issued for construction
    • Site sees the current revision only
  4. As-built
    • As-built drawing received
    • Verified against the model
